| Okay, this is my first post, so I really have no idea of how to do this. I apologize for any typos I may make in advance.
To start bonsai, I have read as much as I can about the subject. I have about 14 books and have read about 6, so I'm almost done. I don't have much gardening knowledge, and no artistic talent, so I'm hoping that bonsai can further my development into the two. I have also bought that mini-bonsai kit that you may have seen at borders or Barnes & Noble. Three of the seeds germinated and I have three little jack pine seedlings. As I've read, this kit isn't very reliable, but I have read about people who have a tree that is alive and well. I live in Florida, the Sunshine State, so the temperatures sometimes go up to 100 F in the summer. Any suggestions on good places that I could get a good plant to start with, or what would work? Because right now I'm considering a juniper or a jade plant. |

| The dwarf Jade is a great starter Bonsai , also since you live in Florida you can do( just to list a few LOL ) Ficus, or the Fukien tea. These are all great starter Bonsai(in my area they are all indoor Bonsai)but you should be able to keep these trees outside most the year.If you can watch all the videos fron Jerry on youtube, bonsai9723 is his youtube name. He also lives in Florida, you may not agree with everything he does but he has alot of information that is helpful. |
