Still not the right pot but it beats the plastic tub it was in. The foliage pads filled in pretty fast (about 4 months) and I'm just trying to pull the branches down to hide some of the obvious defects. Don't know if I posted size before but the tree is in a 16" dia. pot, the buttress is almost 12" across, the tree is 28" high after some reduction to the apex.

How do you get your box to backbud? Mine are terribly stubborn about that!

I live in the tropics, the biggest problem is 'not' having it bud in all the wrong places. When I picked it up it was a forrest of 2 and 3 year old grown-on branches from buds. Due to it's vigor most of the branch ramicication took place over 3-4 months last year.

Still, every month, I have to go over the main trunk and pick off foliage.

Try full sun and a fertalizer that's something like 0-10-30 to help get buds.
