| Last summer I purchased a little indoor bonsai tree that was labeled Scarlet Fairy Duster. It has feathery green drooping leaves and reddish stems and trunks. Can anyone identify the species and uncover a scientific name? It has deteriorated somewhat over the winter months, losing some leaves. I am still wondering about placement, watering, feeding, soil and repotting.

| It's a Albizia julibrissin (Silk tree), often called Mimosa, but it's not the commonly found little house plant called Mimosa who's leaves close when you touch them. If you Google Albizia bonsai you'll get lots of hits to peruse and learn from. |
