 o
bougainvillea bonsai soil??

I have the same problem of water runoff, probably due to peat moss. I would like to repot but my search said only repot in mid summer. Some of the brachts are burning at edges. Soil is hard as a rock. Any advice would be appreciated. (see bonsai pics on my web page-upper left corner)

Thought you got answers to this on the other forum.

JesseM,

Go to the Container Gardening Forum and search for Al (tapla) soil mix. He has a great recommendation on a fast draining soil that should work well for your plant. I have repotted this time of year, if your weather is good,I would think spring is a great time to repot. Good Luck!!

Here is a pic of my plant that I have in that soil mix.

Not sure what you mean Lucy--I don't belong to any other forums re gardening or bonsai. The mid summer and mix info I have came from search and FAQ on this forum and water runoff I found in a recent post here.

Jessem, you might consider a syringe or 'water pick' of some sort
to deliver water to the center of the plant's root-mass until you
can re-pot...That moss'll need to be moistened when it's removed,
anyway. I wish I knew more about bougainvillea potting.
