Definitely repot it right away, get the glued on stones/moss/grass off there. get it into a fast draining soil mix as soon as possible.

Also, *gradually* move it into stronger light. The leaves will burn if moved too rapidly.
As a tropical wetland tree from south/central America, yes it can handle strong sun.

Also, I wouldn't get too set on keeping it as a small bonsai, because they grow like mad. Even in medium light, the leaves will get quite large. Mine started out as a single trunked, 12" "bonsai" tree in a little urn type pot with no drain hole. Now, it is a large tree, growing about 6 or 7 feet per year. Obviously I cut it back every year, but it just grows back with a vengance. So, with that said, get it into a good soil, and into a better pot, with a drain hole for sure. I don't know if the one you have is braided, but if it is, just keep in the back of your mind that eventually the trunks will thicken up to the point where they will choke each other out.

And just to be clear, when you say money tree, you are talking about a Pachira right? If so, it'd be a woody plant, with thin green leaves, coming from green stems. The reason I ask is that jades are sometimes referred to as money trees also.

Yes my tree is a pachira. I hope mine doesn't grow 6 or 7 feet a year, but at the rate it's going, if might!

If you don't want superman-like growth, then once you reach your desired height, start pinching out the growth at the tips. Pachira are no different than any other tree, in that they have major apical growth, which means that they have a strong urge to grow upwards. If you pinch the growth on the taller branches, you can force the tree to put more energy into the side branches, or force back budding, which will result in a shorter, bushier tree. It was always a conversation piece for visitors on the massive growth of my pachira, but this year, I am pinching to create a shorter bushier tree. Right now, I have it at abour 3 feet tall, and and pinching the dominant shoot, which is making side shoots appear and grow. And to think, I have all this growth already, and it isn't even the booming growth season yet.
