Sycamore seedling/sapling bonsai help!

Hi everyone, VERY newbie here to Bonsai. I have found 4 sycamore seedlings in my garden and have decided to "have a go" at bonsai...I have been wanting to for years, just never had the guts to try!

I don't know the ages of them, I'm guessing they are either new this year or one year old.

They are all about the same height (about 6-7 inches) three have only one set of leaves, one has three sets. I have just rimmed the tap root down to 1-2". One has a horizontal root system starting, the rest were just taproot and some finer ones above the cut I have made. I have also pinched out the top of one of them (the largest with three pairs of leaves, this one seems to have a more "woody" stem too), but left the rest. They are in a 25/75 mix of peat and sand.

They are all in one large pot at the moment (approx 12" across) It is a terra-cotta clay pot with good drainage, that is to say it seems to drain pretty well.

I have planted some of them upright, some on an extreme angle.

Would it be best to put some pictures up?

Query for you all......have I done ANYthing right so far!!???

ANY advice at all appreciated!
