Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to make your own rock slabs out of concrete or etc for forest plantings of bonsai or penjing plantings.

Thank you,

Troy

Here's a link to various versions of it - I've done it and the 'beginner' business doesn't matter, because in the end it's what you do with the stuff that counts.
http://www.the-artistic-garden.com/hypertufa-recipe-beginner.html You can also Google hypertufa yourself and see how many other recipes you can find - there are lots, all similar, all light enough to be manageable (because of the perlite, etc. in the mix vs just straight cement). Have fun - do follow instructions for drying - don't try to rush it.

Out of curiosity I wandered over to this forum, I usually hang out in the Garden Junk and Hypertufa. If you're wanting help or info on making pots or planting slabs come on over to the Hypertufa forum, we'd love to have you! It's listed on the Garden Forums main page.
Bring some photos if you can.
See ya!
