Handmade pots

Just wanted to tell anyone who's interested that I tried making a pot from "ciment fondue" as per a book I bought on bonsai. The proper cement mix "ciment fondue" was very difficult to locate. But it works! It's a lot easier than "hypertufa" as you don't have to make a mold and pour it. The "ciment fondue" is the greatest medium - it's stronger and "finer" than regular portland, kind of feels like working with cake icing. Just figured someone out there might be interested. I'll be making more projects out of this stuff - many more bonsai pots and pads and maybe even a treebeard or a hobbit hole!

RE: Handmade pots

Hi Homedome

Interested to read your somments about "ciment fondue". I'd really appreciate it if you would please provide me with the contact details of who you purchased the "ciment fondue" from, as I'd like to find out who manufactures it, and if they supply wholesalers/retailers in Australia/New Zealand. It doesn't seem to be manufactured in this part of the world, or if it is, they aren't telling anybody!

Many thanks,
Phil
