| Hello everyone. I received this ficus bonsai two years ago, and it has been generally healthy and grown consistently while I've had it. The tree was already wired when I got it, and I haven't touched it since. Recently, I've noticed that the wiring has been cutting into the bark, and in some places being partially engulfed by the tree.
Should I remove the wiring? If so, should I treat the trunk with anything post removal?
Thanks |

| Yes by all means remove the wire. Very carefully trying not to scar the tree any more. The wire should have been removed way before now. You didn't know and I understand. If you could attend a Bonsai meeting and get advice from them as how to take care of your tree. Good luck with your tree. Larry |
