Hello

Ok my in laws gave me a bonsai as a gift this past x-mas and the bonsai was stred in an unheated basement for the rest of the winter. It is a outdoor green mound juniper

juniperus procumbens "nana". Ok within the last few weeks I have slowly put it outside to harden it off. Never left it out all night until recently. And when the cold snap hit I had it covered with plastic but made sure the plastic did not touch the tree.

On the label that came with it it said to water it everyday. So I have been except when it rains. Now here is where I need help. It is starting get lighter in color and a bunch of the tips are turning brown. I have not trimmed it but I have taken off a few of the deed ends.

Now is my bonsai dying if so how can I save it. I am an experienced gardener but this is my first ever bonsai.

I am in zone 5 indiana and I have the bonsai on the back proch which gets sun and also is shaded. I brought the plant inside just a few minutes ago. Should I take it back out tonight or just wait unitl the morning.

Thanks for any ehlp that you can give me. And I did ask gentleman from the local bonsai club about this. But it wasn't turning brown when I talked to him (in fact it was not even outside yet). We just talked about basic care and simple bruining (he said I should pinch the ends off and not use clippers as this will make the ends turn brown. Which totally lost me). Thanks

Paula
