Thoughts on a meyer lemon?

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with lemon as bonsai material? Or even some advice. I also have an orange jasmine and jaboticaba. I think it will be an interesting ride.

Cheers,

Lauren

ps they're all outside warming with my avocado (which could never be a bonsai!) right now.

Lauren,

Sounds like you are having fun with your plants. Lemon trees make nice bonsai. It's slow work but they can eventually look good. Is your plant from a seed or a cutting? If the plant is from a cutting then you will get fruit soon if you haven't already gotten fruit. If your plant is from seed prepare to wait 8 to 12 years until you see fruit. All in all, tropical bonsai are fun to create. Good luck and have fun with your bonsai.

Art,

Research the Citrus Forum's past threads. Bonsai Citrus was discussed. The pictures were quite spectacular. Aloha

Thanks Guys! I couldn't help myself with the fruit trees. My local nursery is going out of business and it's both good and awful at the same time.
