How to stimulate branching.

| I have a dwarf Hawaiian Umbrella plant that I've owned for approximately 6 months. Its only about 12 inches tall but hasn't branched at all. It seems healthy otherwise. It keeps putting a new leaf at the apex at which time the older leaf that grew from the apex maybe a couple of weeks to a month earlier turns yellow and falls off. Is there a way to force the plant to branch and put out more than one leaf at a time? |
