| Ok, so I moved up here from just outside of Philly where I kept a small collection of trees including some Trident Maples. I kept the trees inside my enclosed porch and they seemed to be alright. Well, its almost July and the Trident Maples have not come out of dormancy, but when I scrach a branch it still looks green. Just so everyone knows Im color blind and think Carpenter Bees look green, so am I just seeing things or did a harsh winter up here kill them. My Japanese Maples, Pines, and Elms are in full leaf and doing fine, the only ones that died (I think) are the Trident Maples. So, Im just looking for an explanation from someone with greater knowledge so I dont make this mistake again. |

| My sources say that the minimum temperature for trident maples is about 20 F while Japanese maples are a bit more hardy. |
