I think my poor Bonsai might be dying.

I'm afraid I don't have any pictures of it. It has a relatively thin, grayish trunk with long leaves that like to curl in on themselves. When I got the tree it was covered in large red berries.

I've had the tree for about six months. I kept it inside at first, because it was winter (and I lived in a bad neighborhood and if I left it out someone probably would have smashed it). The berries never fell off, instead the whithered while still on the tree. I was concerned about this so I picked them off.

The trees leaves have recently been turning a little yellow and I moved about a week ago. When I did so I put the tree outside so that it could get more sun. It has been getting several hours of sun every day and I water it daily so that it doesn't dry out.

Over the past week the leaves have all turned a brownish red, but the branches are still firm. I checked the roots and they are moist but not soaked and don't smell like they have root rot.

Does anyone know what kind of tree this is? Is there any hope for it?
