Ficus Benjamina advice

I'm looking for some advice on my little plant. I must admit I bought it to get some green in my college dorm room somewhere in September, and I simply picked it at random at the local Ikea. And it grew quite a bit over the past year, so I'll assume it's rather healthy. (Didn't even lose a lot of its leaves) But I moved back home since I should be graduating in 2 weeks, and now I decided to actually start looking after it.

I don't strictly want to turn it into a bonsai, so I'm willing to accept failure in that. But I'd like to turn it into a nice house plant. I'm wondering where I should start. At this point I'm thinking about repotting it and feeding it some fertilizer. But I would love to clean it up a bit, and maybe even twist it. But I'm afraid to just start cutting, so where should I start?
