| HELLO, TWO WEEKS AGO I BOUGHT A BONSAI BOUGAMVILLIA AT THE FLOWER FESTIVAL IN EPCOT CENTER IN FLORIDA. THE OWNER OF THE STORE TOLD ME IT WAS AN OUTDOOR PLANT, I ASKED AND INSISTED IF I COULD HAVE IT INDOORS, AT A VERY SUNNY PLACE, SINCE WE ARE NOW HAVING A VERY HOT WEATHER (103 DEGREES AND UP) HE SAID NO, THAT IF I WANTED TO KEEP SEEING THESE MAUVE BLOOMS I SHOULD KEEP IT OUSTIDE, LOTS OF SUN AND WATER IT EVERY 2 OR 3 DAYS, BUT WAITING UNTIL THE SOIL WAS DRY TO DO IT.
I PUT IT OUTSIDE EARLY IN THE MORNING AND PART OF THE AFTERNOON. THE LEAVES AN THE FLOWERS STARTED DAY BY DAY TO TURN YELLOW AND TO FALL. SINCE THAT DAY I HAVE IT INDOORS AND IN THAT SUNNY PLACE I HAVE. I WATERED IT, BUT LEAVES KEEP FALLING, WHAT SHOULD I DO, I REALLY FELL IN LOVE WITH IT SINCE THE MOMENT I SAW IT SO I'LL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO BRING IT BACK TO ITS COLORFUL STAGE. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!! THANKS, CELINA ACOSTA

| WHY ARE YOU YELLING?! Bougies do need to dry out between waterings. The leaves may be falling because you put it outside all at once, instead of getting it used to being there, first in the earlier a.m. and later pm, and only after ~ 10 days at midday, but you're right about it needing to be outside once that's done. Give it a little while to recover and dry out a bit more, and try it outside again, but first in light shade til 10 a.m. and then 3 again, and later on full time. |
