 o
ponytail bonsai

Hi all, my friend is giving me a ponytail plant in a pot that has 8 plants in it (all ponytail).
The trunks are about the size of golf balls, and the plants stand from soil to top of plant about 6 inches.
Any ideas roughly how old these are?, and can I repot them individually as bosai?

regards tinki

RE: ponytail bonsai

You can repot them as nice little ponytail house plants, but they have a long way to go before you call them bonsai. However, that's not really accurate, as those plants don't 'do' traditional bonsai anyhow, just keeping them (but not yet!) in little pots and trimming the roots every year or two keeps them from growing larger, but that doesn't really make them 'bonsai' in the normal sense.
