 o
Yew

I just bought a garden center multi-trunk Yew. Last winter It was pruned nicely by deer :0) down to 24" and twin trunks. It is back budding well, has curved branches, and looks healthy. It was not expensive.
It now has many crowded roots and the soil is the regular bad garden center soil.
I have never worked on yews before and would like to re-pot.
Should It be re-potted now or should I wait until spring.
I will appreciate any info on the care of yews.

Paul

RE: Yew

It can be done with no real difficulty and the same as most other Bonsai species. You could do so in late fall before dormancy but since you say your new and unless it is root bound I would say next spring would be best as far as optimal timing for healing and adjusting.
