Hi

I have two unshaped bonsais of Syzygium cumini approx. 2 years old please suggest bonsai style according to current shape which required less pruning. Unfortunately I don't have the digital camera so I post illustrations of my bonsai.

#1 Combine the trunks in an upright style or remove the two outside trunks.

#2 Slant the trunk in a re-pot and make a semi-cascade or cascade style bonsai.

Shoots what do I know, your call, good luck. Aloha

Hi lehua13
Thanks for reply.
#1 How to combine the trunks?

RE: Suggest bonsai style

is,

I am not familiar with this tree but it is a tropical and if it is like a ficus. The trunks can bound together and they fuse into one truck. Others with knowledge of this variety and technique can add realistic info. It would be an experiment to see what happens to me. I think I would strip the bark where the three trucks would be touching together then bind them tight with flat twine. This is just my opinion with not much to back it up. GL aloha
