| I recently took a few cuttings from a ficus retusa. They have rooted. Would it be possible to create a basal flare/taper on them for bonsai? |

| Not sure of the diameter of your cuttings, but in the past, I have taken cuttings the diamater of a pencil, and from the bottom, made two cuts up into the trunk, carefully spreading the trunk apart, and inserted a pebble and planted it. It healed, giving me the flare that I believe you are looking or. |
