I recently pulled this bugger out of one of my G-pa's wildflower pots and i thought it was a species of maple but im not sure now. any guess what it might be?

It kind reminds me of a hydrangea leaf. But I'm not sure what it is. Sorry.

At first I thought it could be a mulberry, but the way the stem's growing suggests it could be a type of vine - grape, glory vine, etc.

I'd vote for a grape vine. They CAN be bonsai'd, but I have no experience with them.

agree, wild grape. I'm constantly weeding the buggers! The develop fair sized underground trunks if they aren't pulled as young plants.

i did a little picture hunting and found out that it is deff. a grape vine i am going to try growing it as bonsai but its a lil weird being as it has all these long finger things growing at the junctions. oh well . thanks for the i.d.

the tendrels (finger thingies) will really grab on to things! Grow the wild grapes, they make fantastic jelly, if you can get to them before the birds do!

that looks like a grape we have similar shoots all over the yard
