| Hi. I bought a Japanese maple bonsai a few months back. For a week, I went on vacation and forgot to have someone water it. When I got back, all of it's leaves had dried up. Is it gone? The trunk also seems more dry than it was before. It is dark now rather than green like before. I've continued to water it intermittenly but I don't see any signs of life. Thanks. |

| Scratch the trunk firmly in one little spot. If it's green underneath, it's alive and you just have to wait and see. If it's not green, it's likely gone. Don't overwater to make up for what happened - maples don't like wet feet. |
