Need Help Identifying Bonsai Species

Posted by Lazarus22 Oakland, Ca (My Page) on

I am not entirely new to bonsai I had one many years ago, but I just bought a new one after not having one for many years and I do not know what species it is. I bought it at the oakland chinatown street festival after it caught my eye and I would very much like to care for it and help it flourish but I cant really do that very well if I dont know WHAT it is. So, can anyone please tell me if they know what this pretty little tree is so that I can make it happy. here are a couple of pictures. thankyou so much for your help, hope to get a reply soon before it starts to get thirsty.

Looks like Ulmus parvifolia, commonly known as the Chinese or Lacebark Elm a common import with that S-shape
