Identifying my tree and any other tips!

Never had a bonsai before, but I found this one at walmart and got a good vibe from it. I just have no idea what kind it is, if it even is a bonsai or was mislabeled, or really the first thing about taking care of a bonsai.
It has smooth, dark green, alternating leaves. The trunk is brown, rough, with lighter brown "blotches."
If you can help me identify it, and if you have any other tips for taking care of it, it would be much appreciated!
