| Ok I am a complete novice, I purchased this bonsai at BJ's for $20 about a month ago. It was doing good until a week ago when the leaves started turning yellow and falling off. Now my bonsai is almost bare. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, also would like to know the the type of tree if anyone knows. I love the look of this tree and really want to save is possible. |

| Hi, you seem to have a Chinese elm (Ulmus parvifolia), and the #1 reason any plant will turn yellow is usually being watered more often than necessary. However, it can also happen if the tree hasn't been watered enough, or properly, and/or for other reasons, so can you please give more info on how often you're watering, how you're doing it, and how much, as well as how much sun/light the tree's had (either indoor exposure or outdoors. |
