Still along ways to go to be a refined plant. Goes winter dormant dropping its leaves.Hardy to about the upper 20f's.

Hi, don't remember last conversation, but it's such a great start with that trunk. Did you remove any leaves in early summer to see if new ones would come in smaller or are you waiting to do that another year? In spring, eliminate all branches that aren't 'the' bonsai, unless you're going for a large canopy look and definitely choose between the two (or at least shorten one) on the left that are threatening to be two leaders. Can't wait to see it next year!

What happened Lucy is that in 2007 we had four nights of 32 or 30 that killed the largest branches on that little tree. Last year very thin sprouts grew out. This summer it got back to looking like something. Since it's very late in the year for this tender tropical any pruning will be in spring.
The next freeze,if we ever have one,It's coming in.
