| Hey guys,
I posted earlier, but I don't think my post actually went through! Anyway, I just bought a lovely little fukien tea and the lady at the store told me that it would be best to submerge the pot in water until air bubble stop coming up and to do this twice a week.. that seems a little excessive to me! Any advice on this? Also, I've been keeping my tree indoors.. will it be okay as long as I find it good sunlight in my room? The flowers die off pretty quickly, but I think that's just how it goes, haha. Thanks for the help guys! |

| Your instincts are correct. It's much better to water from above, slowly, and if the water doesn't drain away quickly from the pot, mix in a handful of grit (up to 60% of the mix) at your next repot. Fukiens need a LOT of very bright light all day long, and most of us with them use full spectrum fluorescent fixtures up to 6" away (more isn't very effective) for 16 hrs/day. |
