Brown spot on Ficus Ginseng leaves

Posted by noeldelia (My Page) on

I baught a Ficus Ginseng about two month ago which at first it was making leaves very fast but from the begining I noticed that some of the leaves had a brown spot generally on one side and those leaves fell after two or three days! Now the rate of falling leaves having this brown spot is bigger than the growth rate and it seems that this plant is deteriorating fast! Can anyone help me please?

Thanks,
Noel

RE: Brown spot on Ficus Ginseng leaves

Look at the brown spots with a magnifying glass to see if they are scale insects. They will be about 1/16th" and raised up a little. If they are more black and sunken then it is probably a fungus of some kind. If it is scale you will have to spray with Volk Oil or some other oil spray. If it is a fungus then the problem is very dangerous. A county ag agent may be able to recommend a fungicide that will work.
