| Earlier this month I was out in the rain and discovered that I had moss growing in some areas in my backyard, which is really unusual since it's normally warm and dry (we've had a cool few years). So I harvested a good portion of it and put it in a covered planter to keep the moisture up and let light come in, I also placed some on a bonsai and it looked nice but after a few weeks it started to brown so I returned it to the planter to recover.
Has anyone ever added moss to their indoor pots? Any tips on growing? I would spray the plants a few times a day to keep it moist and allow it to dry out overnight but alas, it may not be meant to be. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. |

| In general, folks will add moss to their bonsais for showing. In order for moss to be happy, the conditions would probably remain too moist for most plants.

| Bummer, So unless I can find a species that enjoys constant moisture or a moss that can tolerate being dryer and stay green, I am probably not going to hbe able to use it. Oh well, I guess I might just create a large bed of moss and use sections on the indoor plants and take them out as they start to brown. I would try for ourdoor moss but normally it's supposed to be hot and dry and moss probably won't like it as much. |
