Azalea Fungus

There is a cream colored fungus growing on the nebari of my azalea. At 1st it looked like maggots but on a closer inspection it turned out to be fungus. It showed up after prolonged rain.
Should It be left alone with less watering and re-pot in the spring Or should it be re-potted now with a free draining soil. I still have some #8822 napa floor dry, grow grit and moss left and can make enough soil for one pot.
