My plans, cut the branch on the right off, which should trigger buds to form in the orange area, pick one of those buds and make it the new leader (blue arrow), then remove the branch on the left. Super taper should be achieved from doing this:

| These air layer easily. Why not take two above where you plan to cut and you will have 3 trees. Penny |

| Yes they do layer easily, but they also root easily as well. Air layering would only set me back on the design of the tree when I can easily just chop it and root the branches. |

That left trunk will eventually come back more, I just wanted to reduce the height for now. |
