Bonsai Bougainvillea - Wilting Leaves

I have a deep pink bonsai bougainvillea that I received as a gift a year and a half ago. It was so beautiful!! I kept it outside during the summer months and it grew quickly. It had dark green leaves when I got it but as time went on, the new leaves were much lighter in color and no new flowers appeared. I trimmed the new growth and watered it as per the instructions. I brought it in over the winter and it pretty much just sat there with not much new growth. In early Spring it got two pale pink flowers and that was it! I put it back outside this summer but the leaves look wilted (curled up), there have been no flowers at all and I don't know what to do with it. Any suggestions as to why it's doing so poorly??? Thanks.
