Hi, I want to propose something here, and that is that if you have a new issue, or an issue which may have been addressed in an old post, but one that has been inactive for more than i.e. 6 months, can you just please start a new thread. If you want to ask someone the outcome of an old post, send them an e-mail, or at least use their name in the 'subject' line, plus 'Re March '06 post" which will tip off the rest of us who may not be interested. Constantly reactivating old issues with posters who've likely moved on (or certainly have not posted any time recently) is pointless if the original person's not around, and if you want new information on a similar subject, a new thread is the way to go. Just a suggestion...

It is a good idea! And I agree. The reason I hadn't posted was so that the Thread would stay at the top of the first page of the Forum. Now, you see, we'll have to keep bumping it for newcomers ;) Josh

Josh, good idea :-), but I wonder, because I've seen a ton of old things come up on the home forums lately and i wonder if the site isn't doing it on purpose to keep things active (using made up names).

*Bump* A lot of folks are enjoying vacations/holidays this time of year, so I thought I'd bump this back to the top..... If you have a question, please feel free to start up a new Thread! The regular posters won't mind at all. The key issue, you see, is that many of the folks who took part in past discussions are no longer here - or here so infrequently that it might be months or years before they reply. Further, with the "email notification" provided by GardenWeb, there is virtually NO CHANCE that the original poster will ever be notified of an update to his or her Thread. Thanks! Josh

Good idea, but apart from Xmakah, what bugs me is people who come here with urgent questions, get answers, but never come back to acknowledge them. I get the feeling they may also post on other forums and just never even look here again... guess they're entitled, but it's annoying. Oh well, Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah and whatever else might be relevant!

Hey, Green Thumb! Thanks for the bump, and welcome aboard! It's very much appreciated that you've done a bit of reading here. What kind of tree do you have? Josh
