It will survive, but it won't thrive. Yaupon holly doesn't strictly require chill (evidenced by the southern limit of its natural range being within Texas), but it will be much happier with winter rest. Keeping it cooler during the winter (perhaps in a sheltered but unheated space) may help. It does like humidity.
