| I know this is posted below in an existing topic but looks like it may slip through.
I posted a while back about planting the seeds. Lucy, you said I did not have to place the seeds in a cold place as the tree (Fukien Tea) is a tropical kind. I have tried to find more information about this but many sources on the net and in books do not seem to mention tropical bonsai seed differences in growing! I have just planted some in a pot and kept inside in conditions like that of my bonsai, would you recommend any other action, like bottom heat for example? Jimmy |

| Bottom heat if it's mild (like top of a fridge) can help, but other than that (and a good mix of perlite with a little peat mixed in is all you need. Each seed type may have individual instructions like scarification (firm scratch on the seed to help open the hull when soaked), soaking in warm water x 24 hrs (or not), planting 1/2" down, or only on top with no more than a dusting of soil on top, etc. etc. so do go by the packet directions, but no tropical needs cold stratification ever. |

| Well the seeds are straight from the tree itself so no packet with instructions, haha. I`ll probably just stick with planting them and with a small amount of bottom heat. Thanks for the help Jimmy |
