| There are various videos on youtube about taking existing trees and converting them into bonsai, so you can check those out. When they are larger the common trend seems to be that you chop off a lot from the top and a surprsingly large amount of the roots, it won't hurt the plant, and then place it in the dish. The big difference is that you will want a faster soil that won't hold too much moisture, which is why people add rocks or fired clay to their custom mixes (or you can buy it as well) |
