Calluna vulgaris

Just a thought, I found two nice specimens of Calluna vulgaris (Scottish Heather) It is usually a ground cover. Any one have any experience creating a Heather Bonsai?

The primary trunk and branches appear woody enough. I'm looking at trying it just the same.
