p. afra needs direction, opinions please

So I have this p. afra that I got cheap a couple of years ago. Clearly it was someone's bonsai subject but they had given up their vision & I as yet, still can't see it.

I've kept it going for about 2 years now, turning it around every now and again, waiting for inspiration.

I just don't see it.

I've thought about lopping off the branches & rooting but again, I have no vision and magic 8 ball is no help (har har).

Here are plenty of pictures, near as I can tell, it once must have had rot where the trunk meets the soil. It is in a gritty mix that *could* be grittier, but it appears to be happy, leafing out well etc.

It was once in a grittier mix with the classic 3 ingredients but never had this many leaves.

Hope this link works, the first pic is of the top, then follow the link to the album to see the rest. It's probably best to view as a slideshow & I've recently removed a good deal of new growth.

My hope is to end up with a more aesthetically pleasing plant.

Here is a link that might be useful: p. afra
