I have recently collected some wildlings from my front yard and trimmed the roots and the top of the trees and potted them i seperate containers with straight perlite and a layer of course rock on the bottom and top of the perlite. i also used a pruning sealer on the newly pruned top of the trees, along with rooting hormone on the roots before potting. i have them in my enclosed porch temp at about 45degs. far. out of direct sunlight. do you think my wildlings will survive???

Hi, spring would have been the time to do all that, not autumn when plants are going dormant and their roots that store nutrition for the winter are needed. Plus pruning the tops would stimulate new growth, which again should not happen til spring. The perlite and rock should all be mixed together, not layered (and no rocks should be on the top or bottom alone). Rooting hormone should not have been used on the roots either. You're trying to get your trees to grow out of season, you see. Out of direct sun is good.
