| I have a little problem: I just received a Camellia bonsai as a gift, but I live in Michigan. Any advice as to how to care for it? I assume indoors at this point is a must, but should I put it near a window, does it need a lot of light, a little, what? This is my first bonsai and my first Camellia so I'd appreciate any advice you all could offer. Many thanks! |

| It needs very good light (indoors) if you want it to flower (though this may not be the season). Allow at least the top layer to get dry between waterings, especially in winter. I suggest you Google C.B. to get a large consensus of opinions on it, because it's not as common as e.g. Juniper, and you do want to keep it alive. You could also try the houseplant forum here on GW for general Camellia care, and worry about 'bonsai-ing' it later on, once you have that under control. |
