That looks like it will be a nice plant, did you strip the bark away for some deadwood effects? Is the yellowing the normal color for that species or did you apply something?

I used lime-sulphur on the deadwood areas. When it dried it turned white, it looked bleached. This is what it looked like when i got it.

It's not enough for me to just tell you that you need to begin working on forming some individual foliage pads, but unfortunately I can't help you w/o being where you and the plant are. I would suggest you join the nearest bonsai club. If you're already a member, ask for the help of one of the members you're relatively certain has the ability to help you tease out of what you have, what the tree wants to be. It looks like windswept is the obvious choice by the picture, but the material is young enough you can move it in almost any direction you'd like to take it.

One thing you can do, is rework the jins. Strip the bark all the way to where the jinned branches bifurcate from the other side of the fork. They also need to be shortened. As they are now, they confuse the eye. The flow (in your first picture) is from left to right, but the jins are glaring right to left distractions that immediately draw the eye away from the tree as a whole.

Why is this tree so green in zone 6 right now? What is your over-wintering strategy?

Al, I see what you're saying about the jins. The pic was taken months ago, hence the reason for the coloring. Thanks for your info and there is a local bonsai club where I am., so I'll be taking your advice and contacting them. Thanks again.

I agree with Al. Either the jins need to be shortened a lot, or they need to be removed altogether. They just don't flow with the "wind." If the wind was blowing the tree(s) and broke those branches off, the jins should go with the direction of the branches. The wind wouldn't break the branches off at those angles. Get what I'm saying??

Yes, it's outside. The pic was in my garage a few months ago. After really looking at it I understand about the jins. I looked up the local bonsai club and intend on joining soon. Thanks again for everyones advice.
