I just got a bonsai juniper the day after christmas, and I set it in my windowsill facing south west. After one day, the leaves had turned brown! Is this my fault? Is it dead? Is there any way to save it? Please help!!!

That is most likely too much light, you may want to put it somewhere it gets morning light or filtered light. Worst comes to worst, put it in the ground.

It could also be due to being placed too close to vent which will dry out the tree very quickly. Also keep in mind that it will probably dry out quicker and need more frequent watering during the winter.

It could also be due to the fact that it's a strictly outdoor tree and you're trying to grow it indoors...

P, What type of container soil is it in? Was it a gift? Does the soil drain rapidly? I have mine on the porch(outside) in partial shade and afternoon sun and it seems to like it. Mine drains rapidly into a tray under the pot. When the tray goes dry, I water the juniper. See pic. JMHO Aloha.
