Chinese elm deformed

Merry Xmas everyone. I have just posted a pic in the gallery, of one of my chinese elm seedlings that I have had for about 3 months. It has a really strange trunk, & I was hoping someone might know what is wrong with it.
I bought twenty seedlings off ebay, none of the others look like this, & when I got them they did not appear to be grafted.

Thanks
Ron

How weird! Looks like someone did an experimental graft, maybe of an airlayer, and you think it's a mutant? I don't, but what I'd do is be brave, do either a trunk chop (or a new layer to keep the top as well) and good luck!

Thanks Lucy, I was a bit worried it may some sort of disease or pest problem. Of course it is the middle of summer here, so I will be carefull about layering it without killing it.

LOL
Thanks
