Tulip? Variety? If not then what?

I think this may be a tulip but I am not sure. If it is I would like to know what variety. If not then perhaps I could get the name of the flower as I would like to plant more. It came in the yard of the house I just purchased.

Flowerman, it's red Appeldorn. A Darwin tulip. Good naturalizer.
