Have a try with Daffodils.
Let them undisturbed in the ground
They are not eaten by mammals (Mice or chipmunks or gophers)
In some regions the narcissus bulb fly might extinguish the bulbs but in other regions this insect is absent.

Apply organic well rotted manure in the late fall.
Replant only (in summer) when the clumps of bulbs and daughter bulbs have become too dense. Avoid planting in half shadow.

Crocus is probably the first and grape hyacinths, then tulips followed by daffodils and hyacinths. Iris which are rhizomes will bloom later then Asiatic lilies (bulbs), Oriental lilies (bulbs) and daylilies which are also rhizomes will follow. There are several different bloom times for daffodils and dayliiles end the season with dahlias which will start blooming in the late summer or early fall. If someone sees something wrong in the order I put these please say so. Have fun!
