Amaryrillis Bulb

Posted by deebie SC 8a (My Page) on

I purchased a bulb during the christmas holidays. It put out 2 flower stems, bloomed and just proceeded to die one leaf at a time. I know that it won't produce a flower at all next year, but I'm wondering if the bulb can be saved. I'm thinking I should have potted it in regular potting soil instead of leaving it in that bulb fiber that was used. Can someone help me please?

RE: Amaryrillis Bulb

It can produce a flower next year, although it may be in the spring instead of at Christmas time. There's lots of info on the Amaryllis forum. I've included one link, you can also look for a thread they've recently started with FAQ.

Here is a link that might be useful: Can I reuse an Amaryllis after it blooms
