Best gladiolus money can buy?

Last year I sent my mother-in-law home (7,000 miles) with some gladiolus bulbs that I had bought at the last minute from a seller on Amazon. They didn't even come up!

I want to mail her some sure-fire replacements!
Do you think I should order from Brent and Becky's Bulbs or my local expensive nursery or ?

Thanks for your suggestions.

Err probably neither.
If you don't mind older varieties (and you shouldn't...tested and true), try Old House Gardens.

Err quite possibly neither.

I'd suggest (if you don't mind older varieties...and you shouldn't..tested and true), Old House Gardens.

I planted glads from Old House Gardens for the first time last year and every single one came up and bloomed beautifully. And depending on her zone- the ones I planted were hardy to zone 6! So I didn't even dig them up and they should come back this year (although the stupid polar vortex may nix that!)

So I second dbarron's recommendation!

Here is a link that might be useful: Old House Gardens, Gladiolus

I like Gary Adams' Pleasant Valley Glads and Dahlias. :)

Species bulbs like Gladiolus orchidiflorus are best, most beautiful, but impossible to find! Bulbophile has seed. Always have to buy seed and hope to germination!
