I love having flowers for cutting in my garden, and last year at Home Depot in late March or early April I came upon freesias with the other bulbs. I didn't know much about them but it said they were fragrant so I was excited! Planted them in a raised bed with other bulbs and they didn't even show.

I do remember that I threw some of the bulbs out when I opened the bag because they were obviously past their prime, so that may be part of it.

I never saw any freesias this fall in my bulb shopping locally in Sequim so I figured they were a spring-planting. But, now I'm looking online and seeing most sellers list them as zones 9-11. And so I'm confused.

Anyone here have any luck growing freesias in western Washington? I would be willing to do some in pots if they are too tender to be outside all year.
