RE: Gladiolus communis

I got mine from Old House Gardens. Plant Delights Nursery also carries them. Choke on the price and get the ones called "Cruentas". They are vastly superior to the straight communis byzantinas. (I pulled these out and threw them out after a few years they were so unsatisfying.) Cruentas blooms are twice the size and far more vivid in color. The good news is that in good soil, they multiply like wildfire.
