I'm not sure why they are drying, but Normally when you get tulips from the store they have been "forced" to grow and bloom out of there normal blooming time. This stresses the bulb and They normally don't bloom again the next year if forced again. But you can try to plant them in the ground if its warm outside, and with luck in the next few years they will bloom again, I'm sure you can find some more tulips that have been "Forced" at your local grocery store or Wal Mart has them for good prices! hope this is helpful.

you say you brought them through a cold spell...does that mean you dug them up and put them in the fridge for 10-12 weeks? That's what we need to do for tulips in TX.

BTW, hostalover is right, those lovelies from Feb 08 were probably hybrids and probably split into 4 small bulbs in your pot. They will likely need a few years of digging, dormancy, chilling and replanting to bloom again. Buy hey, you might get a flower if you gave the the long chill they need.
